Programme Overview

The program is Master of Science (Safety, Health, and Environment), which is developed and offered by the School of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The program has 46 credit hours that must consist of three categories of subjects, which are university, core and elective subjects. The program focuses on three components, which are safety, health, and environment. The aim of program is to equip graduate students with adequate knowledge in safety, health, and environment for improving quality of safety, health, and environment in any operations, activities, and industries. The program can be registered to both full-time and part-time students. Minimum duration of program is one year, which consist of two semesters and one short semester. Maximum duration of program is four years.


Programme Objective

The objectives of program are to equip students with ability to:

Master the knowledge in safety, health and environmental discipline.

Apply research knowledge in safety, health and environmental discipline.

Demonstrate several methodologies to analyze problems in safety, health and environmental field using scientific and critical thinking approaches.

Apply to legal, ethical and professional code of practice in safety, health and environmental discipline.

Deliver effective communication on safety, health and environmental issues.

Apply the concept of lifelong learning in safety, health and; environmental field.

Entry Requirement

Candidate must hold a Bachelor Degree in any field of science, technology and engineering with CGPA of at least 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent) from a Recognised Higher Learning Institution.

Candidates with other academic backgrounds must have at least 5 years minimum working experience in the field of safety, health or environment
