Master in Forensic Accounting And Financial Criminology
The programme aims at producing graduates with a broad-based introduction to the nature and purpose of forensic accounting. Graduates are exposed to courses well beyond a ‘legal’ focus and provide an opportunity to study skills in investigative techniques and the collection of data as well as the skills necessary to not only identify poor management but also unethical and fraudulent activities. Graduates are expected to acquire independent accounting expert witness skills including preparation for court appearance and cross examinations. Students may register either for full-time or part time study for the Master in Forensic Accounting & Financial Criminology.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Faculty Requirement
● Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (Honours) from any Institution of Higher
Learning (recognized by UiTM Senate) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75; OR
● Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in a relevant field from any Institution of Higher
Learning (recognized by UiTM Senate) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75; OR
● Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) from any Institution of Higher Learning with a
minimum CGPA of 2.50 and 3 years relevant working experience; OR
● Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) with a minimum of 5 years’ working experience
in relevant field; OR
● Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CPA (Australia), CIMA, MICPA,
ICAEW, or equivalent) recognized by UiTM Senate; OR
● Professional Qualification in a relevant field from any Institution of Higher
Learning with 3 years relevant working experience.
*Candidates must pass the interview.
4.2 English Language Proficiency
Applicant must show proficiency in English as all programs are conducted in English.
i. Full admission will be granted to applicant who fulfill these criteria:
TOEFL certificate with a score of at least
● 550 for (PBT: Paper Based Test), or
● 213 (CBT: Computer Based Test), or
● 80 (IBT: Internet Based Test)
OR
IELTS Certificate with Band 6.0 or above
ii. Candidate with the following scores may be considered for admission but must
meet the required TOEFL or IELTS as in one (1) upon graduation.
TOEFL certificate with a score of at least 4
● 450 for (PBT: Paper Based Test), or
● 131 (CBT: Computer Based Test), or
● 45 (IBT: Internet Based Test)
OR
IELTS Certificate with Band 5.0 or above
Candidates need to undergo a bridging program
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
5.1 Computer laboratory and statistical software namely SPSS and NVIVO.
5.2 Moot Court for ‘Commercial Crime and Investigation (AFC748)’.
5.3 For the course AFC748 (Commercial Crime Investigation), it is best practice that
the course be taught by a practitioner.
